Resistors limit current. The most popular resistor type is made by depositing a carbon film onto a small ceramic cylinder. A small spiral groove cut into the film controls the amount of carbon between the leads. The carbon composition type is also popular. Its made from a mixture of carbon powder and gluelike binder. To increase the resistance, less carbon is added.

A resistor is a two-terminal electrical or electronic component that opposes an electric current by producing a voltage drop between its terminals in accordance with Ohm's law. THE END

A resistor is a device used to control current in an electric circuit by providing resistance. There are two types of resistors: a carbon film and a carbon composition.
