Latent heat is the heat energy involved in the phase change of water. Latent heat is gained by water molecules when water evaporates. Heat is measured in Joules.

Latent heat is the amount of energy in the form of heat released or absorbed by a chemical substance during a change of state or phase transition. In simplier terms it is the heat released during a chemical change.

Latent heat is the energy that is added or removed per unit mass. The energy transferred as heat during a phase change simply equals the mass multiplied by the latent heat. Latent heat is energy transfered during phase changes.

Latent heat is the energy involved in phase changes of water. Latent heat happens when water evaporates and generates energy. It's basically energy that is made during chemical changes.
