I think the reason why the Titanic sunk was because it got puntured. Once the water started flowing the ship, the weight was very unevenly distributed. As it filled up with water, the one end of the ship gradually kept sinking deeper. It is kind of like our boats. Once the water got in, they were gone. There was too much weight with the water for the buoyany force to keep it afloat.
The reason why the titanic sunk was because of a scraped hole in the hull. The front of the ship had 5 pockets for air and they filled with water, thus making the density of the boat heavier than the water could handle. Then it sank slowly.
I believe that it was sunk because it got a hole in it. It scraped against an iceberg and thus it puntured a hole of about 1 meter. Then it started to fill up the ship slowly with water to sink it.
The titanic would have been fine if they would have seen the iceberg and been able to turn the ship in time. But because it didn't have time to turn, the side of the boat was scraped by the iceberg. It didn't seem like a huge deal but those small holes slowly let water into compartments down below. As the water kept filling in, it caused the boat to become heavier in the front. The heavier it got, the more it sank into the ocean. Before long, there was so much strain on the middle of the boat that it broke right down the center. The front half went down and then the back half eventually sunk too. This was all because the water density was too great for the boat to stay afloat.
