Question

Why are we able to build huge ships the weigh hundreds of tons and they still float?

They have buoyancy because of the great surface area. They have huge surface areas, so they have large buoyant forces pushing them up to stay afloat.

They spread the weight with a lot of surface area. That is why we can have huge ships that weighs tons and tons. To still be able to float.

Those ships that weigh a lot also have a lot of surface area. Thanks to bouyancy, the force pushing upwards by the water and water tension is greater than the force of the weight of the ship going upwards. Therefore, the boat can float. THE END

Because they have a bigger surface area to hold itself up.

The boats are very big and their weight is spread out over a large surface. This gives the boat a large bouyant force that keeps it afloat. The buoyant force pushes upward to keep it above water.

The ships may be huge but the surface area is larger. This makes the buoyant force greater and it keeps the boat afloat. It pushes the boat up and evens it out so that it doesnt sink or tip over.
